Within the sleepy nights of the dreamer world, there is always one dreamweaver who refuses to go to bed before she has finished the job. She was growing tired and fast. Her desire to be helpful and resilient was fading.She laid there, puzzled by the voice calling to her.
Did she not reach everyone? She spent the night, most nights, all the nights, weaving through dreams and nightmares. She hoped this one time, she wouldn’t have to go out again.Her last dream that she was called too, was different from any other dream she had visited before.Dori? The voice said, you look different?Dori looked around at herself, everything seemed the same in her eyes. She still had her horns and usual clothes. Though a few slight changes were apparent, she couldn’t see any big difference in herself.Am I in a dream? Dori asked herself.The woodland creature stared back at Dori, their ears puckered up in excitement.“You’re just like me!” The creature said as they patted down on their own extremities.“Ears?” Dori felt something start to grow from the top of her head. Fluffy, loppy ears? But- dragons don’t have ears!Dori started to panic. She was a dragon, right? No, maybe she was different now. She had always been a dragon though, through every transformation, every dream, she was still a dragon. Why the change now?She then realized something, she was in a new dream every single night. Some heavier than ours. Maybe, even with these ears, she was meant to look how the dreamer envisioned her.Is that why I look different now? She questioned.The woodland creature looked at Dori, taking her by the hand. As she walked further into their home, she changed many more times. She still had her signature hair and skin colour but in every dream, she was different.She was a dragon, an animal, even a sea creature in others dreams. Dori could feel her body changing the moment someone new looked at her. Has this been happening the entire time? No, this was new.She took a deep breath and trailed further into the dream, only this time. She looked entirely different. Her horns were gone and so was her usual outfit she wore.“What am I now?” Dori asked the creature.“Whatever you want to be.” The creature smiled.
